Veolia not doing proper job
Nothing new this, but I'm sick of having only half my rubbish picked up. This morning they plucked a black bag out of the top and left the rest - I only have a small bin, so with two weeks until the next collection it will be overfull. Also I resent having to lump it out into the street only to bring it back not emptied.
I've complained and asked for it to be picked up, but they 'can't' come until Friday, so the bin will sit there until then.

This happened to me over a period of three years. At least twice a month the food waste would not be picked up at all. I phoned each time, the lady was very polite, would say it would,be picked up in 48 hours - and then it never was. Then I was told they would put me on a special list to make sure. And then for a week it would be and then it wouldn't.
Each time Veolia didn't pick up my rubbish, I wrote an email to all three of my local councillors. . Yes, it's irritating, annoying , wastes time, and I shouldn't have to do it, but I gritted my teeth and kept on phoning and emailing every single time. Eventually, one of my councillors told me she had brought it up at a council meeting. At that point Veolia apologised (to the Council, not to me) and so far (a year ago) all of my rubbish has been picked up every week/fortnight.
The moral of the story, as far as I'm concerned, is complain, complain, complain. Be a squeaky wheel.
