The damage to St Paul's church railings resulted from a northbound car crossing the road, taking out the young tree, missing a couple on the pavement and hitting the railings.

Something must have gone wrong with the car. It couldn't possibly have been the driver's fault.

It was a Ford, not a Google so it must be down to the driver for not pressing the brake pedal. Dry road, no screech, just bang.
