I have a VW Golf for sale. It is in perfect condition and one of the most reliable cars I have ever had. It is out of the price range you mention but still an absolute steel at £2k, should he want to invest more into the car for something for the long term?

Hi thanks for posting, sounds like a nice car but he needs something for lugging tools and gardening equipment, masonry, bags of soil etc so doesn't want to spend so much on something that he will end up spoiling.

Hi Lauren,isn't your husband Alan Briggs?,he has done my garden fences ,and very well ,a while ago,fairfax road.

well anyway,we are relocating to Portugal in December and ,among other things ,we have our lovely Ford Galaxy 2002(78.000km) to sell,7 seater or ( 2 seats are removable) 5 seater with a very large trunk for tools storage.

i also needed a reliable car because i have small children and, i tell you ,this one has never let me down,of course that i have been always on top of services and maintenance so the car has been always in tip top shape mechanic,inside and out.i like it so much that i considered taking it but is just not viable,we are selling it in November for around £1000.00,just had his service and MOT done in May,if you are not with urgency in buying maybe you guys could consider it.

let me know your thoughts

Thanks Marta it sounds great, but I don't know if he can wait until November as his MOT on his current one runs out soon. I will pass this on though.

Have you looked on Ebay? I am a handyman and tend to buy cheap cars with long MOT. I have been able to find some at short notice on ebay. Warning: if buying use Paypal not cash as then you can claim for any defects that were not mentioned in the ad.

Yes he tried that method and got ripped off in exactly the way you say, now has two knackered cars. Still looking for one that works if anyone is selling.
