... you maybe interested in a report from the BBC about the Biospheric Project in Salford which asks: "With rising food prices, climate change and growing urban populations, how do we make sure we can continue to put food on our tables?"
Vincent Walsh, founder and director of the Biospheric Foundation, explains how the project is hoping to develop a sustainable urban food production system.
Btw, pinkhouses are the new thing on the horizon for urban farming with a project in the northern UK as highlighted on Countryfile recently (now receiving govt funding for further trials). Totally different approach & scale of course to the local projects highlighted above!
