Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Going into Sainsbury's today I was greeted by a lovely display of strawberries, asparagus and sugarsnap peas - the latter two from Peru, but the strawbs (surprisingly at this time of year) from Kent. I half-expected to find a special on barbecues, ice-cream and sun-lotion round the next corner...

The thing that surprises me is how hard it is to get British grown pears - I'm sure we used to grow them like apples, but nearly all supermarket pears are imported.

You want local British pears? Here you are, pop along to Wood Green with Justin in two hours' time and pick your fill for free! You can't get more local or seasonal than that!

Can't come this morning, I'm afraid - could you just drop a bag of them off on the doorstep for me
