Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

while i was walking down turnpike lane today at about 1pm, was crossing over when a car decided to do a U-Turn inches away from me which obviously startled me, i continued to cross whilst looking at the driver, hoping for a apoligy` but all i got from the driver was abuse to which i made a finger gesture at him, by this time he was in the line of traffic going towards tunpike lane station there were quite a few perdestrians on the pavement, he then heald the traffic up opened his passanger window shouted you stupid f****** greek and threw a large orange towards me, narrowly missing some elderly people that were walking towards me.

not only was i shocked at what had happened but everyone one else stopped on the pavement in shock

i managed to get the registation number.

But where is the police when you need them

the orange is still on the pavemnet where it landed before the jam bank

So the moral of this is beware of moterists in bmw's throwing missiles`

But on a serious note somebody could of been hurt

And the registration number is....?
Sorry but can i ask why you need to know number plate its black bmw 3 door

I don't need to know but it has given me a great sense of satisfaction to publish stories like yours AND the number plate. I thought it might help you too.

only know first bit of number plate right but not sure on second part but first bit W279.  Thank you hopefully it will help me and others if they see this person too

Im really suprised that things like this in our multi-cultured socially challenged area shocks any of you ! ! !

I should take some of you guys out in the hood, probably wont even have to go far to see things that would shock you abit more than unruly drivers.

Its not my eago im trying to promote BUT my pessimistic view on the area we live in and the people aka crooklyns who run it.

yes yes yes I know my spelling and grammer is shocking get over it john.

julie boy,  spellin' & gramer's no problem. It's just ur eago.
For once OAE, you and me are in full agreement.
You will get no sympathy from the police as you raised your finger to him, irrespective of his response. These days drivers who drive badly/dangerously always compound their crime with a volley of abuse or physical aggression if challenged. Infuriating is too mild a word for it. I speak from experience. I was assaulted recently by a couple of bald-headed meatheads who, because I looked imploringly at them and gestured to them to slow down as they sped towards me at a junction as I was crossing the road, got out of their car and pushed me to the ground. God knows what would have happened had I stood up to them. The police did attend and I gave them the reg. number, but I inferred that it would be pointless to pursue the matter. They said I would probably see the two men again in the area, by which I assumed they are drug couriers or similar. The only option, it seems, is to keep your head down, avoid eye contact and stew in your own juice. Thoroughly depressing.
Ed sorry to hear that, THUG comes to mind!! but if that was the response from the met whats the point in reporting anything? one wonders if certain indivuauls are known to the police does this work in their favour?
yeah sorry to hear that ed but we should be able to walk about and not be scared to look at anyone. but we cant these days as if you look at anyone now you either get stabbed or something as youths always have weapons with them..  But did put this here just for everyone to know to look out for him and i know i should not of done the finger gesture but if i did not move quick enough from in front of the car he would of gone into me

sorry to hear about your altercation with the abusive idiot in the BMW, but I think that making the sweeping statement

'we should be able to walk about and not be scared to look at anyone. but we cant these days as if you look at anyone now you either get stabbed or something as youths always have weapons with them..'

is way over the top...you have fallen for the Daily Mail, Express etcs scare stories and written off all young people as thugs and accepted the role of helpless victim.

...there are quite a few nice people out there...don't believe the hype...
