Twice stolen pot plants

For the second time within 2 weeks, the middle plant which I put into the bedding box attached to the Hampden Road sign has been stolen. Is anyone else experiencing this or is my box being unfairly targeted?! It makes me sad that someone would steal these.

Perhaps a temporary notice stuck beneath the sign saying - "please stop stealing these plants - they are there to enrich everyone's lives not for thieves to line their pockets". At least it might draw attention to what's happening and make people more self-conscious and aware that other people might see them and challenge them. Would netting over the plants make it a little more difficult to remove them? Neither would deter someone bent on theft but you never know....
