Does anyone else think we are over run with Mini Cabs on Langham Road?

Agreed - the mini cabs make a mess out of the area. They're a pest.
having lived on Langham and also worked for a courier company I sympathise with both points. With the entrance from Westbury cut off the situation hasn't improved. Cab companies have to be located somewhere, and it's usually in a low rent area. I have found that the drivers are not particularly inconsiderate, and given the traffic measures, have little choice but to use the back streets to traverse the area. There is a contradiction here; the surrounding streets have been successfully traffic calmed, and the road layout improved, but the cabs have to access their customers somehow. It is quite possible to create a drop off zone on the main road, indeed the main road is extremely pedestrian unfriendly and anyone with moblility issues is hard put to get across. We should all be able to access all these services; blaming the mini cab companies is not really the answer...
By closing off the entrance to Westbury Road this has reduced the number of Mini Cabs that can drive through the no entry, to zero.
Just because there are traffic calming measures in place this does not prevent vehicles accelerating hard and braking hard when approaching a speed hump, something which you can observe frequently by a number of vehicles, but the large majority are mini cabs.
It’s obvious when you look at the number of mini cabs parked up on Langham Road who is to blame. They may not be the only culprits, but when 85% of the cars are parked without pay & display tickets have a TfL sticker in their window, I think we are safe to blame the mini cabs for the cause of this congestion.
