Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I'm wondering if anyone can provide me with information on the fate of some former residents of 57 Chesterfield Gardens.

I've been researching the history of my road and my house, and have managed to compile a list of all occupants (except during WW2) since it first appeared in the electoral roll in 1905.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone knows what happened to the family that lived at No.57 from (maybe during and) after WW2 until 1997, Maurice and Hilda Woodhouse and their daughters Valerie and Shirley.

Thanks!

If its the same family i'm thinking of, then Shirley married and moved to Saudi Arabia and had 2 boys. Valerie married late in life and i believe moved to Scotland.

Many thanks, Carla!

I do remember that in 1997 a neighbour (who moved away the following year) told me that the previous occupant had moved to Scotland to be closer to her daughter.

Are you still in touch with any of them?

Thanks to everybody who's taking an interest in this post, including the Gardens Residents' Association.

I should just clarify that while I am looking into the history of Chesterfield Gardens as a whole, I'm only compiling a list of former owners and occupants of No 57.

Hi Peter

My mother was Maisie Longman. I was adopted and would love to learn more about my Roots, thanking you for interest.

HI Mike,

Sorry to take so long in replying.

Do you have any connection with Chesterfield Gardens?

Peter
