Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

On Boxing Day night I heard a huge commotion outside in the street. There were around 25 young guys and gals in two groups squaring up for a fight just after midnight. I called the police who came very quickly and everyone walked off looking at their shoes. Then one group spent ages sitting in cars playing music really loudly. Luckily it came to nothing, but with so many people involved it was quite frightening.

The trouble had spilled out from a house just past the river if walking up the street. Unfortunately, this is one of a series of events that have involved the same house, mostly anti-social, late night drinking related disturbances. I have written to SNT about it before and will do so again. I know that the police have visited the house on at least a couple of occasions whilst looking for a missing young person that had turned up there.

The house is allegedly a hostel, but I can't find any information about it.

This isn't an attempt to demonise young people or any other group, just a friendly neighbourly information service.

Hi Fippo, sounds scary. We used to have similar goings on in the HMO opposite. You should try and find out who the landlord is, and also who is renting the rooms there, I am guessing they're rented by our beloved council. Ours was. I eventually ended up with Steve Russell in private sector housing at the council helping me out with our HMO, he eventually agreed to vetting the people who were put in there, and it's now been quiet for nearly 6 months! So worth checking. I was also in touch with the SNT, but it's limited what they can do unless there's evidence of drugs on the premises, in which case you've hit jackpot and they can evict whoever is causing this. Sounds very similar to what happened here. Good luck!!!!!!!
