Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

My neighbour in Seven Sisters needs someone to fell a tree in her back garden. The remains will need to be brought out through her house. Any recommendations?  Any idea of likely cost?  She can wait till the leaves fall which should make the job easier.

I would thoroughly recommend Eris of  Tree Circle: http://treecircle.co.uk/ who have just given a huge hedge of mine a major prune. Eris is based in Seven Sisters and his tree-munching machine for dealing with the remains is awesome.

Thanks, I've emailed them for a quote.  Other suggestions still welcome.

We used Tree Wise Men (as recommended on HOL) to prune our Laurel trees right back to the trunk and found them excellent. Professional, clean and price-competitive.

Thanks, ditto above.

Hi there

We used Dick Tomlinson who is local (07703 654512). He did a great job at a very reasonable price and his crew were very tidy. One approx 30 foot cypress and one 15 foot ash for £500. The trees were not brought through the house though but I assume there are ways of destroying the remains instead as indicated by some of the other responses here

Thanks, will call.

Has your neighbour checked if her tree is covered by a Tree preservation order? In which case she must apply for planning permission. And does the tree really need to come down? What's wrong with it?

It's about five feet from the back house wall and has reached the roof.

I will fight for trees' rights, but not if they have become a nuisance.

TPOs seldom refer to those not visible from the road.  It's actually very difficult to get one, I've tried in the past.
