I wondered if anyone has any views on why there is so much traffic on the gardens roads at the moment. I would have thought, given that there is no through access, they would be a lot quieter than they are. Am I missing something?
(And yes, I know those on Wightman and the ladder have it much worse, and this is in no way to detract from the battle to close the Wightman rat-run.)

Road works at both ends causing traffic build up I guess. Burst water main at Turnpike lane end and repairs to the broken road/ cycle lane by Finsbury park as well meaning temporary lights and two lanes lane into one respectively. People trying to find ways round it. Was chaos this morning when i cycled in.
Oh, so drivers are trying to get further on in the queues for the lights? That explains it.
It occurs that there seem to be a record number of building projects in progress at the moment on the gardens, hence all the vans.
Lots of householders in the gardens have cars and like to use them occasionally. When the bollards were working lots of people never bothered coming into the gardens. Now the bollards don't work and a lot of people can't get out.
Really, Graham? Now the bollards don't work, drivers are trapped in the gardens like flies in a bottle? I'd have thought that after a couple of days in the car they might stop doing laps and get on the bus instead
I never had to queue at the bollards. I often have to queue at the top of my road.
One major source of traffic in the Gardens is its role as a car park for neighbouring restaurants, shops and the Kurdish Community Centre.
Given what has been going on in Afrin, it is possible that there have been more meetings in the Kurdish Community Centre than normal.
