We are doing a home exchange with some people from Barcelona and they have asked for suggestions for pubs, cafes, parks etc within walking distance(of Turnpike Lane tube) I can think of the obvious ones like the Salisbury, Downhills Park, Ally Pally, some restaurants on Green Lanes but would welcome any suggestions I may have overlooked.

Great question. I look forward to seeing the replies.
Parkland Walk is lovely and can lead to exploration of other parts of North London.
Perhaps not actually walking distance, but not far, and can be reached easily by the 41 bus or even better by bike, are Tottenham Marshes and the River Lea.

Walk along New River to Woodberry Wetlands - and a bit further to Clissold Park & Abney Park Cemetry.
Prefer Crouch End to Harringay!! Que la pensee perisse!! Sounds like you're having too many visitors with the most questionable of taste Mme Burrows-Delbattre.
Let's aim to get Harringay on guide books and get the same coverage as Crouch End...I love them both as much...they're both great!
Absolutely Gillian!!! Does anyone know how we can get more people across the whole of London to be made aware of how special Harringay is!?
