Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Tourist recommendations
We are doing a home exchange with some people from Barcelona and they have asked for suggestions for pubs, cafes, parks etc within walking distance(of Turnpike Lane tube) I can think of the obvious ones like the Salisbury, Downhills Park, Ally Pally, some restaurants on Green Lanes but would welcome any suggestions I may have overlooked.

Parkland Walk is lovely and can lead to exploration of other parts of North London.

Perhaps not actually walking distance, but not far, and can be reached easily by the 41 bus or even better by bike, are Tottenham Marshes and the River Lea.

Yes, Lee Valley Marina nr Springfield Park.
Walk along the New River, Bruce Castle (short bus ride away)

Do they have children visiting with them as it may change people's suggestions.....
Parks:
Finsbury park - fountains to play in, cafe and fab playground
Clissold park - lovely cafe and ice team and fab playground but can get busy plus big paddling pool
Stationers park - great climbing playground
Priory park - paddling pool, cafe and playground
Queens wood - cafe and play
Highgate wood - cafe and ace playground
Railway fields - local nature reserve - walk through woodlands and mini playground
River lea from Tottenham hale - river tow path into hackney or I think even further - possibly goes into the Olympic village now.

Queens Head
Great northern railway
And of course The Salisbury

Let's aim to get Harringay on guide books and get the same coverage as Crouch End...I love them both as much...they're both great!
