BBC Radio5Live is currently running an interesting sequence of programmes called Homecoming where radio presenters return to their home town to reflect on the influences and experiences of their youth.
Last night Dotun Adebayo presented a discussion from the Bernie Grant Arts Centre in Tottenham.
Featuring contributions from Harringay councillor David Schmitz, Tottenham MP David Lammy other former Haringey councillors and local community representatives, the discussion looked at 'Greater Tottenham' (which apparently includes N4 and N22). Adebayo himself grew up in Harringay and has a fer memories to share about his home behind the Stadium in the 1960s.
It's worth a listen. The discussion ranged across many areas including the riots from last year, but also regeneration, betting shops, football and community action.
It's well worth a listen.

I didn't know this discussion was happening. But I've dipped into it on the BBC I-player and am reflecting on some of the comments made.
I sometimes ask people how they define "Tottenham". Where do they physically think it is? I find the answers interesting. Obviously, some people - for good or less good reasons - prefer not to be associated with the name. (Or "brand" - the term Kober/Goldberg seem to prefer. )
Both in the hidden 'Taskforce' and the 'Plan for Tottenham' glossy PR booklet, the boundaries of Tottenham seem have been defined by two main clusters of people. The first are planners and developers- originally two groups but which sometimes seem to merge and serve the interests of the latter. So if you look at the drawing in the Plan for Tottenham (across pages 52-53) you'll see it's basically development opportunity tourism.
The second group are the rioters. Tottenham is on the way to becoming a limited narrow symbolic space - the places along High Road N17 where rioting took place.
