Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

TODAY's Sun newspaper carries an editorial on the election and focuses on tactical voting.

In their analysis alongside, they compile two lists of recommendations:

DON"T VOTE UKIP HERE   – followed by a list of 26 seats; and of possible local interest:

VOTE LIB DEM HERE  – followed by  a further 14 seats currently held by Lib Dems

Britain's biggest selling paper includes in their list, the Hornsey & Wood Green electorate.

The Sun's motivation isn't quite the same as mine, but I welcome their oblique support for Lynne.

Endorsement by The Sun.  Eek! A narrow escape for Catherine West.

But in case the polls are right, Clive, don't be disheartened. The electorate is no longer allowed to fully unelect politicians they've had enough of.  Lynne Featherstone is more than likely to turn up in the House of Lords.

Which may be one more reason for falling public trust in our system. As the Rodgers and Hart musical put it, many people: "don't like crap games with barons and earls".

Alan gets it wrong again when he says there is falling public trust in our system. He's so far from reality.

As the people have spoken and voted, the people trust the system and our parliament by re electing the Conservatives with a much bigger majority.  The Tories have done very well to repair the mess from Gordon Brown and give us great economic figures. Zero inflation, low interest rates, record employment, cheap mortgages and happy immigrants who prosper in our tolerant society.

Are you perhaps the Neil O'Shea who, so I'm told, at the Noel Park hustings a few weeks back, urged people to vote LibDem for Lynne Featherstone?

Or are you the Neil O'Shea who stood as a Tory candidate in Noel Park in 2104?  The Tottenham Journal printed only a silhouette.

"Why don't we trust politicians?" Rachel Reeves in conversation with Nick Robinson.

Politicians trusted less than estate agents bankers and journalists - Ipsos Mori Poll February 2013.

"One of the tasks we clearly have is to rebuild trust in our political system. Yes that's about cleaning up expenses, yes that is about reforming parliament, and yes it is about making sure people are in control - and that the politicians are always their servant and never their masters." David Cameron 11 May 2010
