Putting my feelers out... my daughter is about to give birth and I am planning to look after baby:) So thinking on perhaps childminding another or others. I need to find a way to make a living in the process and this seems like a good idea. I am a yoga teacher and teach tue afternoons and thurs afternoon so will be free the rest of week. I have brought up two children of my own both now teenagers and have volunteered as a homestart member supporting families with children in the past and done various child related courses, I have supported local mindfulness courses at a local buddhist centre, and am a buddhist myself, am interested in holistic stuff have full reiki qualifications, counselling certificate, take part in green issues, involved with transition group and local food growing projects, interested in home grown organic lifestyle and all things creative (have an arts degree) and most importantly love children:) Would love to hear of any advice or interest on the subject. And advice about becoming self employed as this is the next step and new to me. Many thanks Gilly x

Ofsted registration is needed
You need to complete a training course, a child first aid course and get a medical certificate from your doctor stating you are fit and healthy enough.
You have to follow the "early years curriculum" (EYFS)
Your property would need to be inspected
The Ofsted website is a good place to start. There is also a childminders association.
