Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Am considering getting a dog! Admittedly I have always considered it a bit too much of a pain, restricting your ability to get away, go on holiday, or just go out for the day! I'm not concerned about feeding, training, exercise as that for me is the fun part. Would like to hear from people who got a dog and never looked back or also those who regretted it! We are a fit getting older couple who may soon move out a bit further with plans to spend more time in Epping Forest etc so exercise is going to happen!

Our beloved family member 'left us a couple of years ago. The only thing putting us off getting another dog is that Haringey, and most other boroughs, are not so dog friendly any more. Gone are the days when you could take your pet into the local pub, (where I taught our pet her 'dog to human' manners and often the other way round too) leave them safely tied up outside the shop and a lot of places won't allow them to run free. Plus a lot of new residents are actually afraid of dogs and resent sharing any space with them, pavement or otherwise. To me this inhibits their training and socialisation skills will not be fully realised.

Well our Golden Retriever is coming up to a year. He has a wonderful temperament but I do worry we don't have enough garden space for him. We may need to take him to the country to live or perhaps register on borrowmydog to get him out as much as possible. We are looking for some holiday cover so would be interested in Jessica's contact. I came home just now and found myself fretting that he wasn't there as my daughter had taken him out for a walk. They are quickly at the centre of the family.
