Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi neighbours!

We live in one of the 'garden' rds and need recommendations of local timber yards... was told homebase was a bit expensive.

Thanks!

Jewson? Hornsey or Harringay sations. Wood Green Timber are cowboys who use ladder roads as a shortcut and I understand how valuable peace and quiet must be to someone who lives in the gardens so please avoid them.

It depends what you want, different places are different for different things.

Homebase is not a real timber yard! The timber shop in Crouch End is overpriced.

Try:

Howarth's in Bruce Grove

DW timber in Tottenham

Wood Green Timber are proper timber merchants where you can get stuff more than 8 feet long, and where you can pick out your own planks etc. They are just north of the Town Hall.

Sorry if they do illegal cut-throughs, havent you tried direct action John Mc?

I have Pam, that guy is quite a thug and his boss at the yard is not interested. I have O'Donovan's on fast dial on my phone, their supervisor is a gentleman and lives on West Green Rd so understands the problem to some extent.

O'Donovan's?

Hi all

we would like to buy some timber to make planters for the garden. any recommendations of where to go for that purpose please?

S & M timber are another lot I'd encourage you not to use - I've been cut up on Wightman road more than once by their vans, who have no regard for the fact that I'm on a bike with a small boy in a seat on the back.
