Great aerial photos from the DM, thanks for posting the link.

A once in a lifetime event to be sure, but more memorable for some than others.

Is the Olympic Park finished yet? It looks rather disappointing. Like a giant industrial park ...

I think the DM's second aerial shot captures the contrast of the two Olympics.

In the upper right of shot, the £23,000,000 amusement "Orbit" tower made of steel, paid for largely by ArcelorMittal. The world's 21st richest man, Lakshmi Mittal, owns 41% of the steel company.

In the foreground, rows of temporary boxes, like shipping containers, the living accommodation for Olympic cleaners. We would never have seen this but for aerial photography.

I hope it will be possible to smuggle in some cameras to the cleaners' accommodation so they can make their own photo essays of their lives in those boxes - especially towards the end of their contracts.
