The Friends group is the only independent protector and advocate for Finsbury Park: as a public park. The group is both a Registered Charity and a Company, limited by guarantee. It's politically unaligned. The Stroud Green Women’s Institute members have voted the Friends of Finsbury Park as their charity to support for the coming year.

Membership of the Friends is free and open to those who support the published aims and objectives.
