We have just eaten at this new restaurant on West Green Road at junction Black Boy Lane called The Banc. Opened just before Christmas by two young local lads. We had a great time. The food is divine and the service fast and friendly. The prices are good and I can't believe how they manage the quality at the price. The old bank building has been done up to a high standard and is both stylish and down to earth. If you live nearby you would be mad not to go and if you live anywhere else it is still worth making a little effort to get there, buses 42, 230, and 341 stop just outside and 67 a hundred yards away. It really felt like the owners and staff were genuinely pleased to see us and were enjoying making all the customers feel welcome and so well fed. Food is wide ranging from grills and steaks to pasta and more. I had a starter of felafels which was the most delicious ever.
The West Green Road - Philip Lane area has long needed a good quality low cost eatery and now we've found one. This one comes with a relaxing lounge bar in the back and open for coffees and all food at lunch times.
