Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Is that sustainable or a normal model, is a local polyclinic overdue? Referrals seem to be to Crouch End or Bounds Green, pretty damming considering we did have a hospital and health employment site.

The problem is a two week waiting time for a doctors appointment, when it was same or next day, or that week.

Which surgery is this?

It's OK, all the poor people with health issues in Tottenham will be replaced by healthy young people who will probably regard confessing their most intimate problems to someone with a couple of bachelor's degrees and a Brompton as quaint.

But the young ones then have babies, which are expensive.  We should only allow 50 - 70 y o yuppies in to all this Affordable stuff.

Health care in Haringey is going to hit meltdown as they build more and more new/replacement homes without adding to the infrastructure.  20k new dwellings planned for Tottenham - say 3 people in each on average? - that's adding half as much again to Tottenham's population of 120k in the next decade.

Now they have blown it on the one obvious chance to do the one thing that would go a long way to plug this gap, they have given away most of the StAnns site for peanuts, for private housing (sound familiar?).  Not the Council this time, but the local health board. Was there nobody/anybody with the vision to say, stuff the cuts, let's get this borough its own hospital?  Or at least a walk-in 24-hour centre there, this would take loads of demand off GPs. Haringey the only London borough without its own dedicated hospital, and with above average health needs.

Good to see that HaNSAH are proposing going for Judicial Review on the StAnns' plans, and are developing an alternative plan.  Info here.
