telephone/broadband engineers please!

Does anyone know a reasonably priced one?  I think there is a fault in the telephone wiring inside my house (the test socket seems to work) and my broadband provider want to charge £99 just to send someone out!  This seems extortionate so I'd be very grateful for any other suggestions.
