Hornsey Town Hall's well preserved 1930s interiors have attracted many TV production companies (Image:Hugh Flouch)
Take a 50 minutes guided tour of Hornsey Town Hall this Sunday 26th July at 2pm, with Paul and Oonagh of Crouch End Walks.
When the Twentieth Century Society came to visit Hornsey Town Hall, the members agreed it was an amazing building.
It won awards when it was first built. These days it’s a bit frayed around the edges, but still has all its original features.
Hardly used for 15 years it’s now opening its doors to the public with a community project, Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre.
This is a chance to see the hidden treasures of 1930s modernism, and discover the history of Hornsey’s iconic HQ and Assembly Room.
For a peek inside, see a set of pictures of the interior I snapped in 2009.
You'll need a ticket for this and they can be bought for £5 at http://tinyurl.com/kvrqkrv.
