Sunshine before the storm?

Being the holiday season we all need to take a break and recentre including taking time for recreation, different from our daily routine!

For the Gospel Centre Food Bank we continue to operate, though have had to be flexible to our volunteers time off from their also busy paid jobs. For our clients at best they might get to travel and stay with family or friends.

Though our numbers visiting the Food Bank have decreased a bit we are still busy, particularly serving families. Also, I am well aware of increasing cost of living including for food. In addition the storm likely to come in the Autumn. Th eGovernment grants forthcoming are unlikely to get to all those we serve. We intend to follow up on this in our developing information and support service.

We are also at the start of looking at what we provide in our emergency food service which fortunately we are able to supplement with a regular donation of fresh vegetables. We know that certain items that clients often ask to be swap plus the rising  costs especially of some items means that this is an opportunity to be more targeted as well as cost conscious.
