Hi there,
We have been discussing this initiative on Harringay Ladder Healthy Streets - " Trees for Streets" is a charity backed by Haringey Council to do what it says on the tin - get more trees in our streets. I know it's not ideal. Some might think that Haringey should be paying for this but I had a bit of a battle with Highways and then with Councillors about getting a tree on the corner of Lothair Road South and Alroy Road during the last consultation.
Alroy Road as some of you may know is sometimes described as the "butt end of Wightman Road" which is pretty harsh but Ive been doing my best as a sole voice to make some improvements to the area. I appealed and won to get traffic islands at the junction with Endymion Road - went all the way to the Ombudsman! Highways are consequently not my biggest fan and I have found the benefits of now connecting up with Harringay Ladder Healthy Streets so that I am not doing this alone.
So we have successfully got our tree and it cost me £200 (on my credit card currently). I would be very grateful if any of my neighbours would care to contribute to my crowd funding page;

I also must water the tree for the next year. I would be grateful if any of my neighbours on Lothair Road South or Alroy Road would like share this responsibility.
