Stray Cat or Wandering Family Moggy?

Hi there - we've just moved onto Pemberton Road and we often see a cat wandering around in the street and we're not sure if he's a stray or just a family pet that likes to roam a bit. He's fully grown, semi-long haired (and quite straggly looking!), white on the underside and ginger on his back and head, muscular looking and sort of oriental cat shaped (triangular head shape, long legs). He looks like he's an unneutered male. He's quite friendly and not at all afraid of us mere humans. One time we saw him, he was with another cat, smaller, but similar shape and coat and with brown tabby fur - that other cat was quite timid, but obviously knew our ginger friend.

We're a bit concerned because they seem quite thin and in need of a good brush, but then they could be naturally thin and spend so much time outside that they get matted as soon as they've been groomed - we wouldn't want to get Cats Protection or similar involved if they have a perfectly good home, and nor would we want to entice them away by feeding them. If these cats are yours or you know that they belong to someone nearby, please get in touch so I can put my mind at rest - if I don't hear anything I'll put a paper collar on them with my number so the owners can get in touch before doing anything else.

Oh, and to the person whose ginger and white 4 month old cat has gone missing recently, I'm afraid that this one isn't your cat - but we are keeping an eye out for him!
