A neighbour sent me this message:

Do you know who owns a smoky grey cat with a slightly hanging down belly?  He keeps hanging round my flat roof mewing for food.  I do not want to feed him in case he is owned but he tries to eat the food I put out for the crows.  I did once give him a can of food (small can) and he wolfed it down.  Hope he has a home.  But if you know people in this area you could mention him to them.  He is totally grey with a little patch of white on the right side of his chest.  I am a bit worried.

Try putting a cheap collar on him, with a note attached asking the owner to call you. But you may find it’s ot a stray. I’ve fed what I’ve thought were fed cats, only to find they belonged to someone but didn’t like their food as much as I gave. That soon stopped me

Yes, my friend said he now disappears in the evening so it is possible that his people shut him out while they are at work?
