Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Around 5pm today, coming back from walk walking from Harringay station, stopped on Wightman Road by Mattison Road by a guy carrying a saw. He asked me the time and I just kept on walking as had a funny gut feeling! He was black and wearing black clothes. Maybe I am just being paranoid?!

Er...I can assure you it's not a wind up and I felt very uncomfortable! Just another weird experience I've had walking around the Ladder!

Gosh! A black man carrying a tool needing to know the time. Terrifying!
Lol!

He used to do that in Finsbury Park in the days of the old 'naughty bush' too.

Well maybe you had to be there but I got very odd vibes from him! I have heard of many people being asked the time before being mugged too.

At saw point?
Hope you're not too cut up about it....

Quick, send in the Ferguson police.

You can never be sure enough, black, dressed in black and carrying a tool. The stuff of nightmares.

Yes - you're being paranoid, possibly racist too.

So I describe someone (in case anyone else had met him) and that makes me racist? Right. I have had several unpleasant experiences in the passage over the past year so I no longer walk down there and I am VERY wary when walking around Harringay. I won't describe the people involved in case that is racist too then.

You described someone who asked you the time. Why have you posted this in crimes, scams, policing?
I think it is important to listen to gut feelings and not to necessarily assume they are based on racism. As we have seen many times in the media, worrying that you are being racist can lead to ignoring some horrendous crimes.

Kat. Ignore all these w***ers. They think it is very funny to make jokes about something which is of use to other people. Sometimes you just have a 'feeling' about someone. Thank you for alerting me.
