Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Has anyone noticed this activity on the increase ? Today in Muswell Hill outside one of the many charity shops there I saw two people brazenly nicking about 6 - yes 6 ! bags of what looked like carefully washed and folded childrens clothes, toys and generally good quality stuff...the thing is some kind person has donated their unwanted goods for a good cause ...I tried to shout at them but was met with abuse..

anyone got any comments or possible solutions ?

Charities shops rely on good quality donations and it should go to raising money for that specific charity as the donor intended !

Just click the link, Alan (ahem!)

Why are people stupid enough to leave stuff outside a closed charity shop? All of them have signs up clearly telling people not to. I rest my case.

Just off topic a little - but I don't know if anyone has noticed that the charity bins at Sainsbury's are often raided as well?  If bags are left beside the bins it does not take long for the contents to be spilled all over the recycle area.  Often we have seen cars pull up under the cover of darkness and a group of people pile out for a comprehensive rummage, pulling clothes out of the bins and leaving them all over the place.  After Christmas there were piles of clothes all over the tarmac, the remains being picked over by the stray vultures who wandered into the area.

I wonder if the donated clothing can be of any use after it has spent a few days left to the elements in the not so clean part of the recycle area?

If you really want your donated clothes to go to charity, then don't use those bins.

Good point, Lou. And disgusting behaviour.
