Before explaining how the renewal programme effected us I will go back to the £25000 issue. I said in my last post that Homes for Haringey are charging right to buy owners £25000 for the privilege of doing work on their homes which they didn't order. This is what I was told by the owners of one flat: Another owner told me today she is only being charged £11,000. Still it is money she can't afford. She & others in Tottenham Hale want to speak out but are inhibited she says by "fear of reprisals" from Haringey Council. This is the reality behind the Great Leap Forward for Tottenham Hale. Whether you are charged £25,000 or "only" £11,000 depends on whose behind the desk on any given Monday morning @ Homes for Haringey & what sort of night they had.
