Siege of Kolbergrad

Let me start this time @ the beginning.

September - October last year 2012, I was woken up by a monotonous thump thump, which  continued every week day for months. The target - the bock of flats opposite me @ the junction of Circular Road & Scales Road. After the preliminary bombardment the block was then surrounded by barbed wire, men in safety helmets, scaffolding, men (I didn't see any women) running up & down @ all hours. A neighbour told me: "it's hell over here. It's like living on a building site. I am going out of my mind..." Lorries trundled around all day & then there was the monstrous Chute erected, where the end of the block of flats meets with Circular Road & down the Chute every few hours or so there would be  the sound of concrete, sand, broken bricks, + the bones of Hale residents, all mixed in together...This was only the beginning of the Great Push, the Homes for Haringey Five Year Plan, the Siege of Kolbergrad... & I am a survivor...
