Hi there!
I have been reading up a bit on the history of the Seven Sister Underground station development and Wards Corner, and i was wondering if anyone had any idea why the station was being built in 1964, but London Underground didn't buy the freehold to the building upstairs (Wards Stores) until 1973? it originally sounded to me as if LU had to buy it to make the station? but that seems a long time later?
also i read in an old copy of the Tottenham herald that the council were intending to make a development on the site in 1973? does any one have any idea what happened to that?
any help would be really appreciated!!

I went toTottenham Grammar School from 1962-1967, travelling from Harringay to White Hart Lane via 41 bus to Seven Sisters Station. The entrance was in West Green Road. After leaving school I never used the station until around 2010 when I met my brother in law to go to Spurs and found the entrance had closed and moved to Seven Sisters Road.
COYS !!! Sorry about that, purely in response to Alex's mention and absolutely no use to OkOzzy's question but I don't meet many Spurs supporters up here in my adopted Norfolk home ! Couldn't help myself.
