Serious Fire - What was it?

We live on the top floor of a house on  the north side of West Green Road between Stanley and Harringay Roads.

On Tuesday evening we were aware of what looked like a massive fire to the south - at first plumes of smoke and then the red tinges of flames. Then a significant number of fire engines approached from West Green Road.

I thought at first it was the building site on Green Lanes but I asked them the next day and they knew nothing of it. Or perhaps it was that alley (not sure of the name) running roughly south-north between Green Lanes and Harringay Road where there are a lot of garages and presumably flammable material. But I could see no evidence of a big fire there either. So perhaps it was further away than I thought.

Anybody know anything?
