Selling your car on the Street in the Borough of Haringey - Pass Message on!

Hello,
Basically do not do this: it is illegal in the Borough of Haringey: but not in every borough. It is a fine of £150 reduced to £90 as I have found to my cost!
Does Haringey advertise this sort of thing? Apparently you can sell your car on the street in Hackney!
Also some queries about the amount of time you have to pay by the time you receive the notice!!

The Council's clause about considering this to be a private sale and in many cases withdraw the FPN may well cover the concerns I raised some weeks ago about my next-door-neighbour-but-one. Though I'm sure he's a serial vehicle seller he's careful to offer them singly, parked in front of his house or very near it, usually not giving rise to very obvious nuisance. He may by now have sold his most recent Benz and seems to be on holiday.

I hope that when tickets are issued, they also post a note saying that if this is a genuine personal sale, the owner can appeal and that the FPN will likely be cancelled. I would guess a lot of people would be scared enough to pay the ticket without a challenge, especially with the short time given before it doubles in cost.
I've successfully challenged FPN's (not for this reason) but I am English-speaking, can write a good letter and confident of getting a reasonable hearing. I suspect I'm in a minority.

Done, emailed today. But note that I said ALSO post a note, with the FPN, as I doubt that the FPN itself makes this clear.

There is no mention of an appeal process: I had to ring up and ask if there was such a thing.

Just as a closing note: Haringey Council let me off the fine for selling my car on the street. Common sense prevails: though I cannot do it again!
I am now moiving on in Colonel Blimp style to vans parked in my road which are longer than 17.5 ft and taller than 7.5ft! and a neighbour who is builiding a house at the bottom of his garden!!

I have a house full of builders in my street that have some very large vans. Are they doing something wrong? They seem to work long hours so the vans are not there in the traditional times that our lovely residents parking enforcers are.

As far as I can see if they have business permits and comply to the height and length restrictions on the business permit app form: they are doing nothing wrong!
