Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello - this is message from Fr Simon Clark, Chair of the Scout Exec Committee for the 2nd Haringey Scout Group, which meets in St Mark's Church Hall in Noel Park each Monday evening. Cubs meet from 6.30 to 7.45, scouts meet from 7.45 to 9.00.

"There really does seem to be a demand for Scouting in our community. The Scout programme exists to help our young people develop in physical, mental and spiritual ways so that they can take constructive places in our society. It builds on what children are taught in school and fills in some of the gaps such as independence, social skills and confidence.

The demand for Scouting however isn't matched by adult support. We have some great adult leaders who devote time and energy to our young people but we don't have enough. In fact the bottom line is that if adult leaders don't come forward our small but keen Group will have to close.

If you have ever thought about becoming a leader or offering support as a volunteer please do get in touch. Full training is provided, satisfaction that you are helping young people in our community is guaranteed and you will have a lot of fun!

Want to know more? Get in touch with me or come down on a Monday night (in term time) from 6.45pm until 9.00pm in St Mark's Church Hall and introduce yourself.

Please help us make sure that Scouting continues in Noel Park and feel free to share this appeal far and wide. Thanks for reading.
