Royal Weeding Day

GuerrillaGardening.org presents one very special day to bow down and honour your local patch by plucking an unwanted plant from the ground and preparing it for one that you love.
On April 29 our Royal Family have given us a holiday to celebrate their weeding. It's a time for the nation to find a partner and venture out into their community and from this day forward remove those unwanted plants, for better, for worse, for richer, ...for poorer, in sickness and in health. And so you can then love and cherish the land with new plants, perhaps even some guerrilla gardening till death us do part according to your common word.
Weeds are plants in the wrong place, they tend to be the most thuggish and self sufficient of plants, and whilst many provide joy they get in the way of even more joyful planting. If you're a gardener you'll know what I'm talking about. Make April 29 a day to step beyond your natural boundaries and celebrate the day with some royal weeding and guerrilla gardening in your community. Perhaps even sow some seeds. After all 1 May is International Sunflower Guerrilla Gardening Day http://www.facebook.com/ev ent.php?eid=149256381795868. What better way to prepare for that by weeding on April 29, after all, where there's a weed there's life in the ground. With your love, there could be something even more glorious growing there.

This idea was inspired whilst at Lewisham Green Drinks (http://www.greendrinks.org/London/Lewisham) presenting slides on guerrilla gardening. Brockley Cross Action Group had declared the Royal Weeding Day and rallying this action beyond south east London. So rally away please and might this a right royal event.
