Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just wondering if there should be a place to gather information on what to do as a result of the riots .

Where are people going instead of the post office ?

When will the high road be open ?

Nearest cash point machine ?

Bus routes and stops ?

I asked one of the police on the high road said he is not local and did not know .

Did my shopping at tesco , I think thats the nearest supermarket .

Also the small supermarket at the bottom of st loys road is open .

Tottenham High Road closed intermittently from police station north to Aldi and beyond. Only local residents allowed through police cordons. 341 on divert. Not sure where it goes after Philip Lane. Possibly straight across at the Swan and up towards Northumberland Park station:that road was open this afternoon.

Cyclists beware. Broken glass EVERYWHERE.

Friends of mine who work in the Jobcentre (attached to CarpetRight) could get NO info from teh DWP staff emergency website until 07.30 this morning as to whether office open and if not where they shoudl report for work. Still no info for customers with appointments to sign on etc. Along with no info on Haringey Council website and inaccurate info on TfL website about buses to/through teh area many have just gone to next nearest office or taken leave until someone tells tehm where to work. Many families involved in the riots will have whole families (several generations) on benefit. Hope they realise they have affected themselves. As Post Office also destroed and many many shops i really feel for residents who have to try to go about their lives.
Yes, why isn't there any info or statement on the Council's website?
