Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Came home today and found the lovely rose bush in my front garden had had every bloom chopped off - not with stem - just under the head - none of the roses were left and the evidence had been removed - it was a big bush and covered in blooms. I just can't fathom why anyone would do this mindless vandalism.... Some pics of one of the roses attached... am feeling ....at a loss!

A trail of petals into Athena Palace (wedding)? Or a gang of squirrels with a curious diet?
That's awful, I'm so sorry to hear that. Why would anyone do that? I can't believe that someone could be so systematic about it, without wanting the flowers for themselves. Maybe they were after the petals (so perhaps Matt's wedding idea isn't so bad)???

I went ballistic at someone picking flowers from a neighbour's garden last year. She clearly thought I was out of my mind and walked away muttering and shaking her head at me.
And I thank you for that, Alison. I would have had her fingers off, the thieving cow.
I don't think the 'must be someone with mental health problems' comment is very helpful, and I actually find it quite offensive.
Yes, I think Saph will probably reflect on that and edit it though. Sometimes you just want to be slightly more articulate than the word in your head (probably nutter) and get it wrong.
Point taken and edited out this comment. .. sorry to have caused any offence.
Local neighbourhood police have been around today - 3 of them - I felt a bit of a fraud really as it seems rather trivial by comparison to most things they have to deal with - but everytime I go out it upsets me walking past a bush that until yesterday held huge beautiful roses and I had been advised to report it..
You should not feel a fraud. You are entitled to enjoy your garden without interference or scum committing criminal damage to it.
