I was wondering if anyone knows who owns the black cat (name is Rosco I’ve been told) and he spends lots of time outside the corner shop on La Rose Lane. The staff have told me he has a local owner, but as they feed him I often worry. He’s very thin and usually appears to have conjunctivitis as well as bleached fur from the sun. He could just be a very elderly boy, I sit with him for a bit most days and he’s the sweetest thing - I have a cat myself so I’m really just looking for reassurance he has a home and the owner is alright.
Thanks!

My wife and I also regularly see Rosco outside the shop. He does look a bit bedraggled. We once saw him follow a man into the property immediately behind the shop on Clarence Road, so he might live there.
I passed him in the car the other day and thought he was dead so I stopped to ask someone who confirmed he's there all the time.. he looks like he needs a check up from a vet..
Hi Shannon
I live close to the corner shop... and know this Cat Rascal very well. In fact I've just spoken to him.. !!
I thought he was dead too .....
He's a bit of a celb around these parts.
Myself and many of the local residents- (Cat & dog owners )share your concerns. He's mentioned nearly every day on our street WA group. I am relieably informed that he does have any owner and is cared for.
Not sure if he's chipped. As an animal lover you want to do the right thing.... I know of an incident where a well meaning person saw a cat that appeared to need attention, took it to the Vet... Unbeknown to them the cat was chipped..and already under the care of a vet and having treatment . The owner was away at this time, but had to pay for a " pet taxi " to return it home. Just saying!!!
What also concerns me is the uneaten food left lying around in various locations .... great for our foxes, pigeons
not to mention the bluebottles ... Lovely .
I think this might be the same cat lying out on the pavement around there a couple of months ago. I was also worried if he was really sick, as he just lay there like a prince. Thankfully when I ran back he was gone. But he looked well fed and cared for, but just very lad back
Hi all
Yes I can confirm Rascal's owners live somewhere on La Rose lane, and despite his appearance is very well looked after.
