Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Robbed in Downhills Park
This is so upsetting as I love my little park, but I was robbed at knifepoint in broad daylight in Downhills Park earlier this evening. It was raining so not many people about but I have never felt unsafe in there before. Anyway - this is just for info really, as always it is best to keep your wits about you (unlike me)!

Thank you. It happened on the path overlooking the playing field/clubhouse, I had walked up the Downhills Park Road side (past the clubhouse) and it happened where the path veers right at the top of the hill (does that make sense?). I was just past the steps that lead up past the old pond. It was a young black boy and he ran off towards Lordship Rec afterwards.

Oh how awful. I ran through there last night with a group of twelve other people from Goodgym. It was just past 7, not long after it finished raining so must have been after you were there. We went right past where you would have been on our way to the Rec.

It's probably a good idea to give a clearer description than 'a young black boy', we don't want to all be looking suspiciously at every black kid walking home from school or coming to the park for sporting purposes. . . height, age, dress, facial description, hair style would make the person easier to identify.

Hi Kate, i live in walpole road just opposite downhills park. I am out the country at moment for 5 weeks but if you provide a description of the robber and the time i can check my cctv to see if he walked through my road before the incident. I can access footage remotely. Since installing the system it is surprising the suspicious activities you see at night when most people are sleeping. This person needs to be stopped especially since prepared to pull a knife in the process
