' Rethinking Haringey ' - the council's vision

Kevin Crompton, Chief Executive, Haringey Council has produced a report called ' Rethinking Haringey', (see attached).

It came out in January 2011 and looks generally speaking at efficiency savings, driven by government cuts. The appendices in the report show you how it is intended to restructure delivery of essential services, all to be implemented over the next two years.

  Naeem Sheikh, CEO of Havco (Haringey Association of Voluntary and Community Organisations) has given his response to 'Rethinking Haringey' by pointing out how this will affect the voluntary and community sector. See attachment 'VCS Cuts'.

In his letter to voluntary and community service (VCS) organisations Naeem points out that;

' VCS organisations that can/will not transform face closure. The sector should, if they have not already done so, liaise with their Trustees about the changes their organisation will need to implement to survive the new challenges.'
