Restocking at the Food Bank

Hello once more,

We continue to be busy, though our numbers have dropped a little from a few weeks ago. One of the challenges we have is restocking after our twice weekly sessions. As our storage is limited we can only get so much stock in advance. When it is used it means shopping which we have done more than ever recently, relying on the collection from the hub as well as public donations, which we continue to receive gratefully. We are currently indeed of standard packets of pasta, cereals, biscuits, standard packets of rice, juice and healthy treats for children.

One thing noteworthy which we have gleaned recently is that not all our clients have received the famed £20 uplift on their Universal Credit. That is because they are on the 'old' benefits such as Job Seekers Allowance or the disability type benefits such as Employment Support Allowance. Though, there is light at the end of the tunnel for most of us as regards COVID restrictions those furthest from the job market are going to generally take longer to  obtain suitable work.
