Hi,
After many years of avoiding car ownership we have finally succumbed and decided to purchase one.
I just want to know that once your online application for a residents' parking permit is being processed (apparently 5 working days) what would you do to avoid a parking ticket?
I know one option is to use daily visitors permits but one would think that once you've submitted your online application, there'll be a printable slip or something that you can put behind the screen to show the wardens that you've applied!
Can you please advise how it works?
Thanks,
Ali

If you've paid for this you should have a receipt. If you haven't received a receipt or a permit I suggest you put a note in your car's window saying the transaction is being processed. I've had a lot of problems recently on the Haringey Local Government site trying to renew a resident's permit. It didn't seem to like my computer's cookies and wouldn't let me access the payment site. I had to go to an old computer to get my payment processed.
Hi Graham,
Thanks for your post.
I do have a receipt but having spoken to one of the traffic wardens on the road, I am not convinced that they would acknowledge the receipt; particularly because the receipt doesn't show the car's reg number.
I wouldn't take my chance with these traffic wardens; they're too keen!
cheers.
