Just wondering aloud how much of our council tax dollars went into the online parking permit application system that fails after I've put in all the requisite details, scans of my driving licence and V5 DVLA documents and council tax reference number. The 'no reply' email address from the person at the council (who replied telling me that their system can't handle a simple change of address application, even though again, I have all the requisite documentation and have to start a new application from scratch) is also the opposite of helpful. As is the five working day commitment to get back to me after I've emailed. Still, if I don't have a valid permit and start getting tickets that will be my responsibility, eh? (Brilliantly, as I've only moved 5 streets away, clearly what I should have done, as you can just print these out, is reapply with my old permit reference number and applicant ID, put it on my car, park legally, and no-one would be any the wiser. But that would be naughty. So I definitely won't do it.)

Actually, that would’ve have made any difference. The changes made to the Haringey Council parking application in April have meant that NO ONE is able to download their parking permit. Or so the call handler told me after I did wait in a call-queue for over half an hour. Payment was also taken from my account three times. How such a simple thing can be so badly wrong is a mystery. It doesn’t work. It hasn’t worked for three months. Get it sorted
I don’t know if this will help you, but we recently changed cars and I went to the council office at Marcus Garvey Library and got a new one in about an hour. You get to talk to a person and they sort you out.
When mine was due for renewal a month or so ago I discovered that the online application isn't working for anyone. But I stuck with calling the number as they CAN do it for you over the phone, they can then email the permit to you so you can print off. The website does not reflect this, but as others have said, its since the rating bands changed, everyone has to apply as if first time. I certainly wouldn't email, the queue on phone is long but when I tried they were as helpful as they could be under the circumstances. I did put a note in the car and didn't get a ticket for the 2 days spent on phone - but maybe just lucky.
Hello! How can they do it over the phone if they need proof of ownership of the car and proof of residency?
On renewals I think so, I had registration/log book & council tax number. I had already uploaded scans online even though couldn't complete the process there. BUT I also had to amend the flat number on my permits which they sorted too. To be honest, worst part was hanging on phone, once I spoke to someone they were very helpful.
