Thanks for asking. Bagpuss is getting better although he still can't walk properly yet and needs to be in a cage rest for a few more weeks and is being looked after by a volunteer fosterer.

The vet bill was £439.74 and Stokey have raised £347.33 so far for Bagpuss. They have £92.41 to pay. They thank everyone who has contributed to the vet bill of Bagpuss so far. If anyone would like to help towards the vet bill or help towards other rescued cats in need, please do so via PayPal to stokeycatsndogs@gmail.com or through their fundraising here and they also have a Wish List on Amazon.

Bagpuss will need a permanent home when he is better. More Stokey rescue cats needing homes here

I've updated all the photos above to show Stokey's current cats and kittens needing homes. All Stokey cats are locally rescued, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, flead and wormed. Details on some of the cats here

Please email Stokey with any enquiries as they would love to hear from you.

If you can't offer a permanent home, please consider becoming a fosterer who looks after a rescued cat on a temporary basis until a permanent home is found. More fosterers are urgently needed as there are so many homeless cats needing help.

Please also spread the word that it is vital to get cats neutered. Free Cat Neutering

Another stray pregnant cat needs a safe foster home to stay, give birth, and weaned off kittens before they go to homes, (and then Stokey will get the mother cat neutered). Please note that cats in temporary foster care need to be indoor only. Please get in touch with Stokey Cats & Dogs if you can offer a safe temporary foster home for the cat and kittens. stokeycatsndogs@gmail.com

Stokey Cats and Dogs is a small rescue for stray/abandoned cats run by volunteers. Stokey are desperate for funds to help cats in their care. Stokey are receiving at least 10 calls a day about stray cats in need. Most of them need veterinary attention, trapping, transporting to the vet and neutering. Financial help is needed to cover vet bills, as well as food and medicine for the cats. Although Stokey use low cost vets, the blood test, flea / worming treatments, microchips, x-rays are not free. Once stray cats are neutered, vet checked and socialised, they find them their forever homes (proper home checks are always carried out).

Please help Stokey to help stray or abandoned cats in need. Please donate by paypal donation (the paypal is stokeycatsndogs@gmail.com). You can also donate through their fundraising page here and read latest updates. They also have a Wish List on Amazon. (If you know anyone with a cat, please spread the word about the importance of neutering).

One of the photos shows Leila who is a very sweet cat. When tenants moved out 4 years ago, they left her behind.  They hadn't even got her neutered. Then new tenants moved in and thought that she belonged to neighbours. So for the last 4 years, since her previous owners left her behind, she has been having kittens after kittens with no home. Leila is now in a temporary foster home and Stokey Cats & Dogs are getting her neutered, microchipped and vet checked. Leila will then need a permanent home.

Another stray cat was collected from the streets yesterday by Stokey Cats and Dogs with a swollen face. This bad face abscess has now been treated, drained, cleaned at the vets. Financial help is needed please to cover vet bills, food and medicine for all the stray cats rescued.

Please help Stokey to help stray or abandoned cats in need. Please donate by paypal donation (the paypal is stokeycatsndogs@gmail.com). You can also donate through their fundraising page here and read latest updates. They also have a Wish List on Amazon. (Please spread the word about the importance of neutering - to prevent more homeless cats being born and to prevent injuries).

Included in the photos above, are Stokey's seven rescued kittens needing homes. They are 10 weeks old. It is better for kittens to be rehomed in pairs. They must be neutered by 5 months old and need to be initially kept indoors only until they have been neutered, microchipped and big enough to then have catflap access to back garden. They need permanent homes - as you know, the life span of a cat is approximately 20 years.

Stokey also want to help more homeless stray cats get temporary foster homes until permanent homes can be found - can anyone help? Stokey always need more foster carers - even a short term fostering is precious - it can save a life this winter! Email stokeycatsndogs@gmail.com

Hi Justine only tangentially related - I have 2 unopened and 1 nearly full bags of wood chip cat litter which my cats have stopped using, would they be useful to Stokey? Only thing is I haven't got a car so someone would need to collect. Thanks Julie

Hi Julie and Justine, thank you for thinking of us! We would very much appreciate the cat litter! If you could please let me know where are you based I would arrange for collection. Thank you in advance! Ella@StokeyCats
