After a heavy downpour is the perfect time to report a blocked drain gully in your street.
Use the Council's Report-a-problem form. You needn't give your contact details, But if you do supply an email address you get an immediate email confirming the report. Blockages are usually cleared within three working days - especially if they cause flooding.

This is exactly the time of year when flooding occurs.
Fallen leaves block storm drains and almost any form of drainage
if you live at the bottom of a hill or slope beware.
keep a good eye on leaves piling up near drainages.

Three young men from the council (or one of their contractors I guess) were clearing leaves from in front of houses and the gutters in Lausanne this morning.
