Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The All Good Bookshop hosts one of our monthly Repair Cafés.

Here's a timelapse Sam did last year - it's the smallest venue we're at.

Like all Charities, we really could use your help.

Next All Good Repair Café is on Sunday, June 8th 2-5pm, followed by ones in Hornsey, Tottenham, Wood Green and Muswell Hill.

First and foremost, please book a session (we do it all for free, no charge).

We'll match you up with people who can help you fix your own stuff.

If you like helping others::

Skills needed: three types of people:

Event Volunteers who could help at our events, which are usually on Saturdays or Sundays:

  • Setting up the Repair Café before we start (setting out chairs and tables) and clearing up afterwards.
  • Greeting people who bring their broken household items for repair (‘bringers’) when they arrive and saying goodbye when they leave, timing their visit.
  • Weighing the items brought in for repair before directing the bringer to the allocated repairer.
  • Noting down the time taken to fix the broken items.
  • Taking photos during the event to post on social media.
  • Making tea and refreshments available to the attendees.

Trustees who can help respond to member wishes to drive us the way members want us to go - we’re community led.

“Backroom people” who can go online for a minimum of a few minutes per month to maintain our online presence.

This means replying to people who post on our facebook group and posting in local social media groups for those who might like to know when our next local Repair Café is.

You could do this just for your nearest Repair Café or for your nearest two or more, so the amount of work needed can vary according to what suits you.

People who volunteer with us say they get a lot out of it so that makes it sustainable, so please, get involved.
