Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I know that a lot of residents are concerned about the spike in burglaries on the Ladder recently.  We should all be reassured that generally the burglary rate in Harringay is very low and often those houses targeted are where there has been no dead lock (mortice) used or windows and doors have not been secured properly.
I have taken this issue up with the safer neighbourhood police team for Harringay and just wanted to let everyone know that this is being address by police and there are a lot of resources that are being placed in the Ladder area throughout the day.  It was a one day spurt of burglaries which has not occurred again.
The SNT and borough Tasking Team are working together to patrol the area as much as possible and looking at doing late night plain clothes patrols within the next 2 weeks.

There have been a couple of nominal arrests which hopefully will have a positive impact on the area and the burglaries.

The SNT are have session where residents can log their electrical items onto a national database (I mobilise). Ill get some more details of future locals for these and post them here.

Thanks Karen. The dry cleaner at the foot of Seymour Rd said he had been burgled over the weekend, and the Lion King had recently been hit twice. I have no idea whether these events are connected to the domestic burglaries but it does add to a sense of nervousness about security in the area (to me anyway!).
There have been quite a few in N15 too, very worrying.

A colleague I spoke to last week suggested the fitting of what's known as a composite door, which is made of different material to most doors and can have a 6 point locking system included. Here's one website with more info. Not cheap but if you're looking to upgrade your front door a useful option. Of course always fit an alarm as well.

There has been a burglary in Paragon court apartments today which is very worrying as it has always been a secure building. Hopefully the daily patrols that are planned will be a deterrent and this won't be a recurring problem
